CONFERENCE PROGRAM 

The AMC2024 conference program features a broad range of speakers across three concurrent sessions covering the entire spectrum of the disease under the key categories of:

  • Early melanoma

  • Advanced melanoma

  • Prevention, risk and clinical detection of melanoma

  • Supportive care and survivorship.

The program features plenary sessions delivered by speakers at the top of their field, alongside workshops, panel discussions, sponsored sessions, oral scientific and clinical abstract presentations, and ample networking opportunities. Additionally, it includes a debate topic that is sure to provoke thoughtful discussion and lively engagement.

 

The conference preliminary program includes sessions confirmed to date and is subject to change. A comprehensive program including all speaker details, session and room numbers will be released in due course.

Accreditation:

A certificate of attendance will be made available upon request after the conference for your own CPD records.

 

The Saturday program of AMC2024 will feature a Primary Care Stream that has been accredited through RACGP (Activity ID: 878946) and ACRRM (ID 33929) for 6.5 hr EA.

 

Learning objectives:

  • Recognise key dermoscopic features associated with melanoma and differentiate them from benign lesions in challenging areas such as the eyelids, facial regions, mucosal areas and acral surfaces.

  • Discuss the challenges and benefits associated with integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technology into existing clinical workflow.

  • Summarise the importance of accurate and transparent labelling in ensuring the safe and effective use of Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) for melanoma detection.

  • Identify the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in the diagnosis and management of melanoma patients, emphasizing the roles and contributions of various healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

  • Discuss how AI is used to enhance treatment decision-making and develop personalised therapeutic approaches for patients with Stage IV melanoma.

  • Identify common challenges and barriers associated with conducting skin checks in primary care settings.

  • Understand the evidence supporting the use of risk prediction tools in clinical practice, including their accuracy, reliability, and potential impact on patient outcomes.

  • Discuss challenges and considerations for integrating new technologies into existing workflows and patient care pathways in primary care settings.

  • Evaluate the potential of AI technologies in improving early detection of melanoma and reducing health disparities and discuss implications for clinical practice and public health initiatives.
